If you love sake, having the right tools can elevate your experience. Our goal is to show you some accessories that will make enjoying sake at home easier and better. Whether you’re looking to heat your sake to the perfect temperature or make it last a little longer, we hope to have you covered here.

Chirori — Sake Warmer
This is the sort of basic, entry-level thing that everyone who loves their sake warm should have. To use it, simply fill it with as much sake as you’d like and submerse it in a pot of boiling water. The handle should naturally drape over the edge of the pot.

Sake Thermometers
A sake thermometer helps you see at a glance when your sake is atsukan (熱燗), meaning the sake is truly hot; nomigoro or jokan (のみごろ・上燗), meaning the sake is warm; or nurui/nurukan (ぬるい・ぬる燗), meaning the sake is lukewarm. Anything above atsukan is known as tobikirikan (飛び切り燗), which means exceptionally hot — it’s literally scalding!

Vacuum Preserver
For those of you familiar with the world of wine, this tool is commonly used to prevent bottles from going bad before their time. It pulls as much air as possible out of the bottle and prevents oxidation. If you want to enjoy your bottle slowly, a vacuum preserver is an excellent option!
