Whether you’re living in Japan or just visiting, the easiest way to get the exact bottle of sake you’re looking for is online. We’re focused mainly on online stores that deliver quickly to Tokyo, where we are. We’ve made an attempt to prioritize shops based on English functionality. Let’s jump in!
Amazon
Obvious? Maybe, but Amazon Japan has a surprisingly large selection of excellent sake, and the site itself needs no introduction. We’re including three links to some of our favorite bottles!
Imadeya
With both an store online and physical stores around the Kanto region, Imadeya boasts some of the best sake around. Plus, they have an extensive selection of other Japanese wines, liquors, and goodies.

Isobe Saketen — いそべ酒店
Founded in the Meiji era, Isobe Saketen has a legacy of over a century of expertise in sake and other alcohols. They’re based in Kofu, and their English site works perfectly well!
Rakuten
Rakuten is home to a vast selection of sake from numerous specialty shops across Japan, making it a strong alternative to Amazon. If you’re happy using a translation tool like Google Translate or otherwise, give it a go!

Kakinuma — かき沼
Located in Adachi City, Kakinuma is a sake shop with a gorgeous selection of sake, all of which seems to be in their online store, and what’s more is that they also have a site for their wine selection. We’re including it in this list despite its lack of English, and we’re looking forward to going in person someday!

Sake no Yamamoto — 酒のやまもと
Based in Osaka, Sake no Yamamoto is a solid choice for buying sake. We’re including them at the bottom of our list because they’re another site that doesn’t have an English version. Feel free to check them out!
